How to create a quiz?

To access the quiz creator tool called Parafraquiz, you must either register for a free account or purchase a paid subscription. If you want to learn how to do so, go to How to create an account or How to purchase a subscription. If you’re already a Parafrasist member, Log In or move your cursor to the "Go to Tools" button located at the top left of your screen and click on it.

  • Important note: The Quiz Creator (Parafraquiz) offers a free trial, allowing users to create 2 quizzes. For free account users, the quizzes are limited to creating between 5 to 10 questions, with the options of “Multiple Choice” and “True or False” questions only.

Once you’ve clicked on the button, a window will open where the Quiz Creator is located under the heading “What would you like to do?” Select "Create Quiz." You can also view the tools in list format on the left side.

When you're in the quiz creator section, start by entering the topic you want. Remember, the more specific you are, the better the results. This tool also has an option to extract questions from an existing text by simply pasting it into the box.

Note: It can also extract questions from an image, a PDF, or a YouTube video.

Next, select the number of questions (with a maximum of 10 for free users) and continue by clicking the "Configure" button to adjust the difficulty level and the language in which you want your quiz. At the bottom of the screen, you'll find your previously created quizzes so you can access them by clicking on their name.

Once all the settings are configured to your liking, click the purple "Create Quiz" button.

A page will then appear with the types of questions; you can choose between "Multiple Choice," "True or False" (the only options available for free users), "Short Answer," "Open-Ended," and "All Types." Below each type is an example. To proceed, you have two options: choose "Practice" or "Create Quiz." We'll show you the "Practice" option first.

When you click on "Practice," the page will display your questions in random order as a quiz. All questions will follow the specifications you selected, meaning if you chose true or false, all quiz answers will be in that format.

Once finished, you can repeat the quiz as many times as you like and check the correct and incorrect answers. You can also view previous scores if you've practiced the quiz multiple times. To view the entire quiz, press the "Edit Quiz" button.

If you clicked "Create Quiz," allow a few seconds for Parafrasist to generate your quiz. Remember, the more questions you added, the longer it may take. Once the questions are created, you’ll need to review them. Each question can be deleted using the trash can icon on the right-hand side. You'll also see the correct answers shaded in purple with a checkmark. You can reorder the questions by dragging the four dots on the left side of each question.

It’s important to note that if you want to change the type of a specific question, you can edit it by clicking on it, and a box will appear, similar to the example image. Additionally, you can modify the correct answer for multiple-choice and true/false questions.

At the top right, there are three buttons; the first says "Practice this quiz," the second says "View as text," and the third has a gear icon. The first button takes you to the quiz section, where you can practice your questions randomly. The second button shows a preview of your questions, along with a button to download the quiz in Word or PDF format. You’ll also see a checkbox to display the correct answers underlined once the full quiz is downloaded.

The third button leads to quiz settings, where you can change the title, add a description, adjust the maximum and minimum score (if you plan to apply your quiz), change the language, or delete the entire quiz.

Below the questions, you'll find two buttons to generate more questions, either by writing them from scratch or having them generated by AI.
