How to Summarize a YouTube Video?
We recommend that you access the Summarizer found on the internal page, as it will make its use easier and you will discover functions that are not available on the main page. To access it, log in if you have an account, and if you don’t, go to Sign Up or check out the article How Do I Create an Account?
Important note: By creating a free account, you will have only TWO trials of our YouTube Summarizer, with videos ranging from 2 minutes to 4 hours in length.
Access the summarizer by clicking on the "Go to Tools" button located at the top right of your screen.
Once you click the button, a window will open where you will find the tools under the heading "What would you like to do?" Select "Summarize."
To summarize a YouTube video, start by clicking on the YouTube video icon. Once clicked, a box will appear where you must paste the link to your video. Remember, for the platform to correctly process the summary, the video must have subtitles and be between 1 minute and 4 hours long.
Once the platform analyzes the video (which may take a few seconds), at the top, you'll find a sliding bar that allows you to adjust the summary length you want, while at the bottom left, there will be a dropdown button to select the language for your final summary. After completing the steps, click on summarize.
In a few seconds, you’ll be redirected to where the summary is being generated according to the chosen size. When it's finished, you’ll see not only the summarized version of the text, but also the original text for comparison, along with its key points. You’ll also be able to see the exact seconds or minutes of each sentence. You can modify the text by underlining it with your cursor, then a toolbar will appear at the top where you can change the font size, color, position, etc. At the top, you'll find buttons that let you copy or download your summary in Word and PDF formats.
